Why It Works

The science is
in the water.

Buoyancy removes up to 90% of your dog’s body weight from their joints — creating a pain-free environment to move, strengthen, and rebuild what land-based exercise never could.

Reduced Joint Pressure

In warm water, your dog experiences a fraction of the gravitational load they face on land. This immediately reduces inflammation and allows arthritic or post-surgical joints to move freely — often for the first time in months.

Muscle Rebuilding

Water resistance creates the perfect strength workout — challenging muscles without risking further injury to joints or soft tissue.

Mental Well-being

Dogs who move freely are happier. Hydrotherapy restores confidence and joy alongside physical health.

Faster Recovery

Circulation improves, swelling reduces, and tissue heals faster in warm water — accelerating post-surgery timelines significantly.

Cardiovascular Fitness

Low-impact cardio in water keeps hearts and lungs strong — vital for senior dogs who can't tolerate typical exercise.

The Story Behind Wet Paws

Started by a dog who
needed help first.

Bailey was diagnosed with arthritis in both hind legs. Watching her struggle to stand broke Ashley’s heart — and sparked everything Wet Paws became.

After discovering hydrotherapy and witnessing Bailey’s transformation firsthand, Ashley refused to keep it to herself. She pursued professional certification and opened Wet Paws with one clear purpose: give other dogs — and the people who love them — what Bailey found in the water.

Today, every dog that walks through our door is treated with the same urgency and care Ashley had for Bailey. Not as a client. As family.
